War in France!

War is sweeping France at this time. Caedes, has been hailed as king of France by several counties and vilified as a rebel against God's anointed king Levan III by others. Tsarine Duchesse of Champagne, caedes duc of champagne, Volpone first pars of France and Jarkov began the rebellion according to our sources. They say they do not recognize the king because he was not crowned at Viens. King Levan III was crowned at Reims.

Early in the rebellion, the country seemed almost evenly divided, but the loyalists have taken control of many towns and counties. Counterattacks are supposedly coming by the rebels.

william sharks compiled this list:

The Loyal:

Normandie ( The duchesse Enox change is mind after the normand's revolt)

The rebels

Bourgogne (Won't do the war)

Latest reports are that Languedoc and Bourgogne are now in control by loyal citizens and Berry is close to going back under the King's authority.

Our King, Long John Silver:
Quote :
We will never give help to the King of France, our most hated ennemy, unless he pays us with good money or with a town (Calais ?).

Dragonflame reports: The Vatican is supporting King Levan III.

Landy Vaness:
Our King has spoken : No support to any side, except if we earn something (he talked about giving a town to England)

A French merchant, Julian2, arrived in Wiltshire and made this appeal just before press time.
Quote :
Ladies, Gentlemen, Friends... The moment of truth has come. France is at war. The insurrections led against Enox and Tsarine have been successful. Tsarine, duchess of Champagne died last night. The armies of France and the Holy Empire of Germany have crushed down the rebellion. England cannot remain neutral. Friends, brothers of England, the rebellion needs you. The rebellion that fights to go back to our old lives before the great change has only one hope left: England. Give the rebellion a place of shelter. Give your strateges to the rebellion, give your armies, give the rebellion a victory--your victory.

Please, help us...

Loyalists to King Levan III are marching in an effort to capture the four leaders of this rebellion.

100 year war
The years after Agincourt witnessed the nadir of the French efforts to dislodge the English. The French first suffered under the reign of the sometimes mad Charles VI. He was succeeded by Charles VII, who started his reign as a generally ineffective ruler. France was riven by civil war, with the Burgundians allying themselves with the English and the king under the control of the Armagnacs.
Charles VII was dislodged from Paris and made his capital in the south (Bourges). The English with their Burgundian allies captured much of the north of France. Paris was occupied by the English. The English continued to enjoy military success, as they did at the Battle of Verneuil where they beat a combined Armagnac-Scottish force. The Duke of Bedford was regent in France and effectively pursued English interests.
The French position was so weak that they came to an agreement that after the death of Charles VI, the son of Henry V would be recognized as king of France.
It was at this time that Joan of Arc played a major role on the French stage, She came to Charles in 1428. Subsequently she relieved the siege at Orleans, marched with Charles to Rheims where he was crowned and succeeded in mobilizing the French. She was finally captured by the Burgundians at Compeigne and turned over to the English, who burned her as a heretic in 1430 in Rouen. The site she was captured is marked by statue. It is across the Oise near one of the city entrances. On May 23 Joan led a sortie from the city which chased a Burgundian troop. In turn, the Burgundians received reinforcements and the French were forced to withdraw. Fearing that the English would enter the city, the commander ordered the drawbridge raised, leaving Joan and other French forces covering the retreat outside the wall. She was taken prisoner. The picture on the left is her statue, with May 23, 1430 noting the date of capture. The photo to the right is standing at the base of the statue and showing a bridge that is the site of an earlier drawbridge protecting the city.

A distraught patient phoned her doctor's office. "Is it true,"
the woman wanted to know, "that the medication you prescribed
has to be taken for the rest of my life"?

"Yes, I'm afraid so," the doctor told her.

There was a moment of silence before the woman continued, "I'm
wondering, then, just how serious is my condition. This
prescription is marked 'NO REFILLS.'"

This is the transcript of an ACTUAL radio conversation of a US
naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of
Newfoundland in October, 1995.

Americans: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to
avoid a collision.

Canadians: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the
South to avoid a collision.

Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again,
divert YOUR course.

Canadians: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course.

Canadians: We are a lighthouse. Your call.

An Army of Knights
Last week, a notice went up in the Sussex Inn.
Quote :
The IA/IS is hereby dissolved by it's leadership.
All active former IA members should report to zerostar for more information.
The soldiers of the IA should not be burdened by past mistakes of others. They will carry their honor with praise wherever they find themselves.
The old IA/IS forum will be kept open for all old members to use as a meeting place.
Best of luck to you all.
Apparently after the leader and founder of the IS/IA, Pathus, left the Kingdom, the IS went through a period of reforms. The IA became a separate group, with its own leadership. However, within days of these changes, the IS decided to disband both the Is and the IA.
Zerostar, who had been elected leader of the IA, did not want the work that the IA had done to be in vain. He, along with a few others, revived the dying Knights of the Phoenix. This became a group where many former IA player went to after the group disbanded.
The Leader of the KOP, Zerostar, was asked if the KOP was simply the IS/IA, but re-branded. He told the Herald that "well we are a militia … but no we are not modeled on the ia/is format". He went on to say that "i decided to create a militia and of course i had asked the members of ia that i had known and trusted to join and a good majority of them did and i made clear from the beginning that they were joining a new group and that there old loyalties were not the same, that ljs and the Sussex were where their loyalties would lye. and that we were formed for the soul reason of protecting and defending the Sussex, in times of peace we would prepare for war and in times of war we would fight for peace."
Another interesting thing to note, while the KOP has not ruled out becoming a political party, the leaders have decided not to run in the next council elections, in either Sussex or Wiltshire
